Our student population is very culturally diverse and we want to use cooking as a way to highlight this diversity. Our students have researched the importance of developing good eating habits. However, they struggle to try less sugary foods that are outside of their comfort zone. We want to take the knowledge they have learned and put it into action in their hearts!
The cooking supplies will help us instill healthy eating habits that our students can take with them long into the future. We know that the most important part of trying any new food is to become excited about eating them. The best way to create excitement is to cook together as a community.
We are confident that we can use these cooking supplies to bridge the gap between Health Science education and personal health choices. The best memories we carry with us tend to be wrapped in a warm cooking experience. We know our students will continue to reflect and benefit from their newly acquired culinary skills.
