For many of my students, Art class is the highlight of their day. It is the class where ALL students can shine. The art room is a venue for students to share ideas, collaborate and learn to appreciate diversity in all of its forms. Art class offers students a chance to explore different art mediums and techniques in line with the NC Visual Arts curriculum, while also strengthening cross-curricular understanding of history, science, math, and literature. Social-emotional learning is reinforced as students practice creativity and personal expression and build self-confidence. Creating art is a vital part of each child's journey to find purpose and meaning in life as they discover that they have something unique to offer this world.
