Leeds Avenue School has almost 600 students PK-5. We are a low-income, urban district, with most of our students eligible for free/ reduced lunch. As the librarian, I get to see all classes grades K-5. As a reading teacher, I work with struggling kindergarten students.My goal in both roles is to foster a love of self, a love of literacy, and a curiosity about what is possible. Many of our students bring a lot of baggage to school with them every day, along with their smiling faces and their eagerness to learn. Whether in the classroom or in the library, joyful learning is always my goal.
