Currently, I spend 10-12 sessions with K-6th grade, 680 students at Conway Elementary. My goal is to use this grant to engage as many students as possible using Google Expeditions. The way I approach learning in my STEM room is very student centered and derived in giving students experiences where I challenge students to learn by doing. I enjoy students to discover what they love, I want students to fuel their curiosity, wonder, and joy, to not only learn but, to find what it is they are passionate about. Google Expeditions is an AR/VR experience where students can lead their own trips and go beyond my four walls. Giving students the ability to lead their own virtual field trips is empowering. This will allow them to obtain a better understanding of not only the world around them but, also an understanding about what is being taught in STEM. Field trips although beneficial they end up being extremely costly. With Google Expeditions we can travel to a complete library of places and discover all of our unknowns one expedition at a time.
