I am a firm believer that kids need to get out of their seats and enjoy what they're learning in order for it to stick. I would use these materials to create engaging games to help my students get more involved in their learning. Students will learn to collaborate with each other through game play. The rubber space savers will be used to create a human board game around our classroom. We will play to review for tests and have discussions with each other in a less threatening, fun way. Students will use teamwork to play a game of "horse" with the basketball hoop as they practice math facts and spelling. They will become more fluent reading sight words as they play the flyswatter game. And this is just the beginning!
