Giving students a classroom environment suited for reading is going to benefit not just the student but the school and community. The items being requested are to help students read in a classroom with little distractions. When students move about the room, the tennis balls will help the chairs from making a terrible screeching noise which disrupts other reading. This causes students to lose their comprehension of what they have read so far. Low-income families have enough hardships to worry about. I have requested a printer for students to be able to print their reading and writing projects in the classroom. I have requested baskets to help sort the classroom library books to make it easier for students to pick books on their reading levels. I have requested an electric pencil sharpener so students have the necessary writing tools ready.
