As I'm starting my sixth year teaching second grade, it breaks my heart that we are still using the reading book I used 20 years ago. I found a wonderful reading program that teaches different standards through picture books and my students love it! We will be focusing on a different standard each week (with spiral review) and have mini lessons each week! So far we have read two books and we've learned to summarize, make predictions, and describe a main character! This is a fun and engaging way for my students to learn the standards that they need, but also touch on their creative side! I love to see their excited faces on Monday when they get to see what book we are doing for the week! Please help me fund this project and update my classroom library!
