My students are predominantly from an island area of S.C. Our school is comprised of 7th and 8th graders, with an enrollment near 425. The teachers do a great deal for the students to reach their highest potential in these important years towards adulthood. As a school, our ultimate goal is to encourage our students to become lifelong learners and educated citizens. As a result, our middle school has been one of the top performing middle schools in the area for the last several years. However, I want to help our students become learners of the 21st century, but with low funding, most of the extra resources for students come at the teacher's expense. Our curriculum focuses learning through diverging books with technology. I want my students to understand the love of cracking open a new book, but at the same time, understand how to naviage a computer.
