Creating a safe sensory experience is essential in the development of gross and fine motor skills for all children, but especially for children with special needs. These resources will help create a beautiful environment for our children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Delay to come and use their bodies to learn. These tools such as the bean bags will be used to facilitate core strength and deep pressure. The different textured balls will encourage students who have tactile defensiveness to interact with peers in a game that they may not normally feel comfortable with. Finally the room dividers will be used to create a private changing area for our students who are not yet toilet trained to promote independence in a safe place.
