My students like to read content based books especially math and science-related ones. We started a collection last year and I purchased several. This year I would like to add a few missing titles and a color printer to print/publish their wonderful stories which are usually made as a PowerPoint demonstration so we can add them to our classroom library. Some of the themes I plan to have the students write on include topics such as fractions, all about area and perimeter and shapes in math to name a few. In science and social studies, we will write on the topics of economics, agriculture and foods/gardens, government, famous landmarks, plant and animal life cycles to name a few. They will also write about elements of different genres and an example story such as fables, mysteries, folktales, autobiographies, and plays.
