My students love to research and create. With these books, my students will be able to see their culture and community achievements where they never have before. Seeing themselves represented in the books they read independently and in my whole group read alouds is critical to acknowledging and honoring our community of diverse learners. I want to give my students more than just an opportunity to imagine greatness; I want them to be able to bring it to fruition by utilizing robotics and augmented reality. Show students the door to a limitless world, and they just might surprise you with your wondrous potential. I have been blown away by my students' creativity with STEM models in my 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms. They will even see it being done with the diverse books in our library! Most of my students will be attending school in-person this school year, and having to stay in your desk the entire time will be difficult for such young learners. Seated lap desks will give my students a choice of floor seating or desks in their designated area. The floor seats can be wiped clean and shared between individuals.
