My school is a Title 1 school and has a 74% free lunch ratio. The demographics consist of 50% Caucasian, 25% Black and 25% Hispanic. We are located in a rural community and these students come in with little prior knowledge. Opportunities for these students are limited when it comes to education experiences. Many of our families are migrant and they tend to move frequently. Others have parents that are unable to help them either due to limited education or time constraints. Many of my students are kinesthetic learners, which means they need to be able to see and feel these math concepts before they can make sense of them.
