The folders requested will house each students P.R.I.D.E (Process Resulting In Diagnostic and Essay) Portfolio. Portfolios are completed for each unit of study (6 per student), and are a comprehensive showcase of student critical reading, thinking, and writing skills. The portfolio shows students that learning and skill building is a process. It is tangible evidence of learning. Portfolios function as a form of project-based learning allowing students to take PRIDE and add individuality to their cultivation and comprehension of content. The portfolio is also used as a study guide for end of unit tests. And lastly, they are the chief resource of reference while developing analytical writing.
