Our school has access to two excellent programs that allow students to work at their own skill level. Both programs allow them to move on to the next level after showing proficiency at their current level. As a teacher I can track students growth along with areas of concern. Unfortunately with the ratio of computers to students my class only gets a guarantee of 60 minutes a week on computer. This does not allow us to take full advantage of the programs mentioned above. With the tablets I am requesting my students could receive an extra 2 hours or more on these programs weekly. My students could also use these tablets to complete research projects and to practice typing skills that will be a necessity in later grades
