In my classroom, I have students from low-income families who often qualify for free or reduced-price lunch programs due to their limited financial resources. In the classroom, they may face unique challenges that affect learning, such as limited access to school supplies, technology, or stable housing. These students sometimes experience higher levels of stress related to family finances, food insecurity, or responsibilities at home. Despite these challenges, they bring resilience, creativity, and diverse perspectives to the classroom. With the right support—such as equitable access to resources, consistent encouragement, and culturally responsive teaching—they can thrive academically and socially.
