I am an upper high school English teacher at Sheldon Early College High School. My students are working hard to take college dual credit courses along with their high school courses to complete their associates degree upon graduating high school. I teach 11th grade AP Language and English IV. We have fallen on some really difficult times this year during Hurricane Harvey, which flooded our school and displaced us for an entire semester. We are back in our building now and working to adjust to the new normal, where classroom floors are concrete and waiting for carpet, where walls are patched but not yet painted, and where we have lost a lot of the supplies and tools we previously had at hand. I'm hoping that through my initiative and through your help, we can get our campus back to where it was before and help get our scattered and worn out minds back to work in a space that will be both functional and welcoming!
