I am looking to set up a phone charging station for students in my math class. Students would be able to bring their devices and have them charge during class. The learning benefit this project would provide would be a distraction-free zone for my class without competing for students' time and attention. Technology in the classroom is important and vital. Widespread access to technology poses its own problems in the classroom. I have struggled with competing with personal technology devices more and more in the past 5 years. It has become a constant battle for teachers. I have not allowed phones in my class for the past 2 years but would love to find a happy medium to not demonize technology.
