I am requesting yoga balls, wobble stools, and wobble cushions for my classroom. I want to give my students a choice to create a comfortable environment where they can learn. Students learn better when they are able to have some control over their environment. Flexible seating will foster a sense of community in my classroom; it will encourage students to share the space with their peers. It makes it easier for students to work together in pairs or in groups without the bulkiness of desks getting in the way! It's no secret that kids need to be moving and flexible seating helps with that! Flexible seating is perfect for those students who struggle to sit still. It allows students to pick a comfortable place and we all know we have to be comfortable in order to learn!
