One of the most difficult parts of distance learning has been trying to teach conceptual math without having enough manipulatives or hands on materials to send home with students. With base ten blocks and other similar materials, students will be able to learn the concepts and have concrete understandings to help them with number sense. These books will allow my students to continue their growth in reading by having access to books at their independent level even when they are not in the school building. They will also have more access to books that they are interested in. Reading is their favorite part of the day, and these books will allow them to keep that love and passion for reading throughout all of the ways learning will happen this year.
