The current classroom carpet has been well loved and it is time for it to retire. Student response: We need a new carpet because this one is old and has lots of wrinkles. As a new teacher, I was grateful that the classroom had a carpet but with students who actively move around it has been unsafe. A new carpet would provide a safe learning space for each student. Throughout the day, the students gather on the carpet for whole group lessons, center activities, quiet time and exploration time. With our flexible seating options, the students prefer to learn and collaborate with their peers on the carpet. As the teacher, I love how the carpet can be a great classroom management tool. Based on the colors, columns, and rows on the carpet, I can assign students to a certain area and dismiss students for activities. Please help our class get a new learning carpet. Thank you and Mahalo!
