These books will help bring that time period to life for my students. It will also allow them to see themselves in a book. The need for more diverse and multicultural books is great. These books are also not graphic novels. To many times my kids will gravitate toward a graphic novel instead of a typical chapter book. I want them to see that chapter books are not scary and can be wonderful tools to help us learn and build on the information from our textbooks. Thanks for helping my kids become more avid readers.
