Most students in my classroom often get distracted by things that are happening around them. This motivates me to create a safe classroom environment that is ideal for learning. My intentions for my students are to understand the importance of reading and its relation to academic success. Because many of my students are struggling readers and/or reading below grade level they are insecure when reading. I believe creating this cozy/comfy space for reading will help them get excited about having a special place to relax while reading. My hope is that they will embrace the atmosphere and begin to see reading as something fun to do instead of a chore.
