I would like to purchase five Amazon Fire Tablets for my class. These tablets would be placed at each of my groups and students will have access to one tablet per 4 students. Our district encourages students to BYOD (bring your own device), but parents are hesitant to allow elementary students to use their own cell phones or tablets due to the risk of damage to their device. These Fire Tablets would give all my students access to Google Classroom, Istation, Class Dojo, and various educational apps. In order to encourage and promote College Readiness and TEKS Technology Apps, students must have opportunities to work with various devices. Currently my classroom has access to four computers, and students may use 20 computers (on a mobile cart) once a week. These tablets would give my students access to devices on a daily basis. Fire Tablets would enable my students to work on TEKS Technology Applications. Easy accessibility to electronic devices promotes an increase understanding of the Tech App TEKS, by giving my students an opportunity to practice these skills daily.
