The crayons, paintbrushes, paint tip marker, spirograph and stencils will help my students learn the importance of creating art and choosing the best medium to help them express and connect meaning to their art. My students are often winners or honorable mention in our local district and community art exhibits and the art books will help provide a variety of drawing style to improve their drawing skills. They are learning that simple art can become a masterpiece if they choose the best medium and style when creating the art. To help them think about medium choice we do art talk. This is were the students have the chance to talk about each others art and share ideas. They focus on what stood out to them in the art. The artist can then use the information to make adjustments to their projects. It has really helped them to become better artists.
