I am fortunate enough to be the media specialist in an elementary school of 730 students grade K-4. I have the opportunity to teach all of these students each week and to help them to become better readers and users of information. Our community is located in a rural agricultural community. 66% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Many of our students do not have access to technology and the Internet at home. In order to function as global 21st Century citizens, our students must be able to be proficient technology and information users.
