One challenge that recurs daily is engaging students is learning. Students often take the processes in science for granted. They focus only on the end product or result without considering what happens in between. Science morphs into amazing learning when students can actually experience the concepts by participating in the process. We teach multiple lessons about energy transfer. These supplies will allow students to actually conduct experiments. This will help our students realize what causes energy to transfer and what are the affects of energy transfer. The students will be able to measure and compare the temperatures of different liquids and other items. They will also be able to measure the effectiveness on different materials as insulators and conductors. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. I know that when my students can be involved in the learning process, their growth will be enhanced tenfold. An even better result is the enjoyment they experience that translates into an intrinsic desire to further their learning.
