My classroom is where the music happens! Students in grades Kindergarten-5th grade attend music class at least once a week. Students learn foundational music skills like singing in tune, keeping a steady beat, and showing expression in music through movement and instrument playing. Students play Orff instruments, recorders, and ukuleles. Each grade level performs at least once a year. In music class, we expand students background knowledge, learn about music and cultures all around the world, and strengthen classroom skills through phonemic awareness practice and steady beat activities. Students also have the opportunity to sing in choir club.
