It is amazing how a simple change in seating option can make a difference for students. They are more focused, more excited, and motivated to learn. Having separate areas in the classroom where students can sit together and collaborate comfortably is important. No one wants to sit on the cold tile floor and be expected to concentrate enough to produce meaningful, high-level work.
While I have made as many seating options available with my teaching salary, I need help to make my classroom fully stocked with alternative seating options for my students. I envision my students being able to choose the seating option that best fits their needs; especially those with ADD and ADHD.
With this project I am requesting balance balls to take the place of regular chairs at students' desks. This will allow them to bounce and fidget in an approved way to aid in quality of focus. Also, I would like the balance disks for students to sit on during group collaboration which takes place all over the classroom. The plastic stools I'm requesting will be used at my small group table as well as at different counter space available around the perimeter of my classroom during group projects and collaboration.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my project and I hope you will be able to help my students and future students make the most of their learning experience.
