Building materials let us plan, experiment, construct, change, and form ideas. These materials will enhance an architecture unit. Pencils and watercolor markers lets us draw what we made. These materials will liven up our garden stories and narratives as we work outside surrounded by our planter boxes full of edibles, herbs and flowers. Going from 3D to Flat gives us perspective and helps us make a model to size. Spacial relations and problem solving skills are applied. Nature's puzzles help shape ideas and helps us figure out what is needed and what is missing. Colorful papers and wire lets us design and create some more. Glitter wands slide across the page and make reading more magical. These free form materials spark ideas and can be used over and over . "I made this " are proud words. Self esteem soars and confidence builds.
