My class currently doesn’t have a good leveled reader set for me to successfully teach guided reading. I have an old set that was given to me more than 15 years ago with not enough matching sets to successfully teach reading strategies in small groups. With these books, I could teach guided reading to help students learn reading strategies as well as the books being used for student independent reading. This set that I chose would pair nicely with the phonics program that we currently teach. Early literacy learning is so important to young students. These books will make reading groups fun and engaging making the students more eager to learn and want to read.
