With flexible seating, students are encouraged to move and make choices that work best for them! Independent workshop time in my classroom may include students writing with clipboards on the floor , reading in bean bags and scoop chairs at the class library, or working on puzzles at a desk in the back of the room. It may look like controlled chaos, but amazingly, my students will usually find the best spot for themselves which facilitate focused, productive, and calm behavior. I want to continue to give my scholars the opportunities to make smart choices for their own learning. By donating to this project, you will give my students additional seating options that encourage more choice, collaboration, and comfort. New wobble chairs will become another class area for students to work independently or collaborate in small groups. They will allow those wriggling bodies to move when necessary! We also need an adjustable table for small group activities and partner writing time.
