Students are learning about people power in World History class! We are looking at injustices, goals, and types of protest throughout history. This has been strengthened through many students being able to protest with first-hand teachers during the Oakland teacher strike. I'm so proud to be able to empower these future changemakers! Many of our newcomer students have interrupted educations, including students whose formal education ended by second grade. Many of my students have deep personal knowledge of conflict and protest, but struggle with language and content.

About my class
