Everyone says it - but I have the best set of students! They are very good kids who care about one another and LOVE to help one another. However, many of these students are below on benchmark assessments for both fluency and comprehension. These student try very hard with the materials I have. I truly believe that making fluency/comprehension practice more fun and interesting by having them perform for the class would not only boost their assessment scores, it will boost their self confidence. Our school is considered moderate poverty and many of my students get free or reduced lunch. Our school is a public K-5 building. We do not receive any additional money for reading materials.
