Many of my students come from low income families, and they come to school with multiple concerns. I want to make sure that they know my classroom is a place where they are safe, and a place that they will be valued and find value in their learning. I strive to design meaningful and varied learning opportunities for each of my students. Keeping in mind their different learning styles and needs. Some excel in creative assignments, where others are more comfortable quietly processing the information presented. I want my classroom to be a place for both types and those in between to grow as individuals. Social Emotional Learning is also a vital part to our daily routine. The students quickly begin to describe our class as a team and/or family. We don't always agree, but we learn how to handle our differences with respect and communication. Everyone becomes invested in the success of the rest of the class.
