I have a few students whose dyslexia is so severe they need create their writing using a speech-to-text feature. While our Chromebooks have the microphone feature, it also picks up any background noise. These headsets would enable the students to speak clearly and quietly into a headset mic to turn their speech into text. This also eliminates the background noise/conversations that could randomly appear in a student's writing. I have other students who depend on hearing passages read aloud through the computer. The use of comfortable headphones would ensure the students are able to hear incoming information. While we have some very simple headphones within our learning environment, not only do they seem to break easily, but the students complain that they are uncomfortable. The opportunity to have comfortable, reliable tools for my students to be successful is immeasurable!
