For years, I have tried to incorporate real-world science lessons. Student are more engaged when lessons are relevant in their every day lives. Physics has allowed me to incorporate projects in my lessons, such as, balloon cars (for newtons laws), egg drop and water balloons project (impulse and momentum). Students use problem solving skills to things out and apply the physics of it. This machine will allow my students to take their real-world projects to another level. Students can design projects and make them come to real life. This will take their physics learning to actual real-world learning. They can design a car using different materials and see how the speed, forces and momentum changes depending on their material used. Students can build everyday things such as lamps, wire them to work and understand the engineering that goes into making household items. They will be able laser different media and observe how light reflects. The machine itself can be used for teaching, how it works through mirrors and their reflections and the wiring components. My students can use inquiry, discuss, learn communication skills, build new ideas they can incorporate all year round. And gain understanding and a passion for science curriculum. As we move through curriculum students will learn how to improve their projects through understanding the physics of it. This is what, I, as a teacher can think of, the students can create something that I may have never thought of. I just want to give them that opportunity to create and apply their learning through ACTUAL real world physics.
