I am a school librarian at a public elementary school in the poverty belt. My kids are excited about reading, creating, and being all-around amazing. Many come from low-literacy backgrounds. Many speak English as a second language. However, they LOVE our library, where they find materials selected just for them, where they create a wide variety of projects.
