My students are awesome! They are dedicated, kind, and funny. Also, they are linguistically and culturally diverse. The students receiving the iPads range from the 9th-12th grade with a varied background of English language proficiency--little to no English and low/high intermediate to advanced. On top of that, I have several students with gaps in formal education. Our school community serves about 800 inner-city, low income students. Outside of basic needs, many of our students do not have access to technology outside of the school. Although my students face many challenges, they are eager to learn and build their English language proficiency.
