Learning to tune your own instrument is a difficult task to learn. Trying to do this when 35 other students are too...at the same time...is even more difficult. For beginning students, having the ability to focus on their own technique is vital. Clip-on tuners hear the vibrations of the instrument, and block out all the other noises of the classroom. This helps the beginning student focus on their instrument. It also allows other students to practice once they have finished tuning, and their 'noise' won't bother the students still tuning. Endpin anchors are needed for our cello and bass students, as our classroom is carpeted, and our performance spaces are not.
