Moving from elementary to high school means my classroom library, while diverse, may not have books that my high school students will be able to access on their level. I would like to provide high interest, high level books for my scholars that will allow them to see themselves amongst the characters and within the pages. I have selected books with a variety of genres and text types; from biographies to fantasy, classics to graphic novels. Within these pages my students will see themselves as the protagonist and imagine worlds in which they are the storyteller. I want them to see beyond their own neighborhood, and reach out to the world beyond. I hope that the funding of this project will only be the beginning of providing a world of literary works for my amazing students.
