A classroom library will collaborate my instruction with a concrete example such as a beautiful book. In second grade, children are still going through the important life task of learning to read. As their teacher it is my goal to ensure that all my students are given the opportunity to choose a variety of books that enable them to learn. It is important to have a vast library for my students to choose from to allow them to constantly be challenged and not become stagnant in their fluency and comprehension. Having a large selection of books to choose from helps students grow their love for reading by always being entertained and interested in books. My goal is to incorporate all my books into my lesson plans and to teach my students the importance of reading. We will learn about story elements, such as cause and effect, various types of genres, authors purpose and much more. It is important for students to not only be able to read but to also be able to understand and comprehend what they have read.
