I am a teacher at a Middle School located in Louisville, Kentucky. My students range from grades 6 to 8. I am a certified English teacher, but currently teaching drama/ theater and reading. I am looking to help my students succeed, and become better readers. These students are miraculous kids, and would utilize these tablets in order to gain success in their reading skills. Many of the students are below reading level, and through engaging activities, students will be able to better their skills and understandings. Tablets allow students to be engaged, assessed, and practice without the anxiety of failing. These tablets will not only bring a fun aspect to the difficult subject of reading, but also will allow students to assess themselves without realizing the impact of their "playing". There are a multitude of word games, reading exercises, audio books, and basic skill building games and applications that will help my struggling readers build confidence in themselves and their reading abilities. Many of these students find that they act out in class the most when they do not understand, are struggling to follow, or feel that the challenge of the assignment is too difficult. These students are ALL capable of gaining success in reading. These students are ALL readers, even if they have not figured it out yet. These students are the next generation. They are the future, and building their confidence in themselves will guide these amazing students to success! Nothing is impossible for these kids! Help me guide them to a brighter future, and build their confidence in their skills!
