Our student population is made up of a diverse group of 7th and 8th graders from lower to middle income families. They have parents who work sometimes two or three jobs but are still dedicated to making sure their child succeeds. When given the opportunities, they take pride in their school and step up to challenges to make our school shine, such as pep assemblies, spirit week, the canned food drive, and Changemaker. Changemaker is a district fundraiser in which each school in the district raises money for the science kits. Despite the fact that our school is one of the few middle schools in lower income areas, the students raise more money than most other schools in the district through creative and innovative fundraising ideas. I added a link to this project on my school webpage and during orientation will mention it to parents. I appreciate anyone who passes on the link to those invested in education!
