Nestled in the heart of an urban city in Georgia, my school serves nearly eight hundred Pre-K through 5th grade students. The school is in a community of low to middle income, working class families with a median household income of $30,846. Most families work in service, industrial and limited professional positions. Our students primarily live in apartments and single family homes with about 80% of the population renting. With 81% of our students identified as Economically Disadvantaged it is very apparent that our teachers and administrators must be resourceful in our approach because of limited resources.
