In our classroom of 11 special education students with varying disabilities, academic and grade levels there is always a lot going on at once. What some may call chaos, we call learning. Every one of my students learns and grasps information in a different way and has varying needs that have to be met. We do a lot of group and individual work to meet these needs through rotation of the adults in the classroom. Located in a low socioeconomic area, with a lack of funding, basic materials needed in a special education classroom tend to be scarce. Like I mentioned before, my students learn and grasp information differently so it is important that I am using many different learning styles while teaching which include visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc. My students absolutely love to learn and I want to be able to push them to their fullest potential.
