I teach Chemistry and Physical science in Mississippi at an extremely low income high school. My students are basically all from low income homes and the signs of the education gap is evident in the initial knowledge they bring to the table when they are in my class. I want to build and instill more than just content knowledge in my students, I want to prepare them to be community leaders after high school whether they go to college or stay in their home communities. While the educational challenges are difficult, I have been blessed with many students who have many gifts and talents, from athletics to band to tumbling and free running! I just want to help them in any way I can!

About my class
