Flexible seating allows students to feel empowered by having some degree of choice. This will also encourage students to find their best spot to learn, stay calm, focused and productive. Children need to move throughout the day. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, lay down, lean or stand, which increases metabolism. An uncomfortable student is a distracted and unproductive student . By providing them with a comfortable area to work, students are then able to focus on their learning. We need soft carpets for children to sit or lay on, a cozy corner area with pillows to use when needed for calming down, reading and working on learning material. Wobble chairs for students with sensory input needs, especially for students who are ADHD, ADD and ASD to stimulate students' sense of touch which can help children focus and process information.
