In the 21st century, it is essential to mix online and offline instruction. The educational possibilities that a set of computers in our classroom would provide are endless and provide us with the opportunity to create lessons and activities for all different types of learners. We are hoping to get at least 5 Chromebooks; enough to have a center where students can work independently on different things to enhance their learning experiences. Some of the projects students will be engaging in will include basic navigation and typing skills, document and presentation creation, virtual simulations, webquests, Google Forms, exit tickets and even online buddy classrooms. In a time when almost everything is digital, students will need these skills. Students will also have the opportunity to use websites such as Accelerated Reader, SuccessMaker, Epic! Books, ReadWorks, Prodigy Math Game and Sum Dog to reinforce the content they are already learning in the classroom. Chromebooks are such an amazing way to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for all students. Having constant access to this type of resource in the classroom provides students with a world of opportunities to progress and grow as learners. Students would be able to access an endless amount of resources by being able to explore beyond our classroom walls. Computers will also allow my students to spark their creativity and show what they know through different means.
