The goal for my students is to develop broader yet authentic literacy perspectives. My students will use these books to gain new vocabulary including academic vocabulary. Students will use the reading corner, which includes the bean bags, to enhance their fluency and vocabulary through a silent reading of choice books. The books requested through the project will be used to increase fluency and identifying with characters and themes that are relevant to the lives of my kids. The books will also be used to read to the students which have been shown to increase comprehension even in high school students.
