My classes are made up of 2nd and 3rd grade dyslexic students. I teach my students what it means to be dyslexic. I share with them all the famous people who are dyslexic and how they excelled in life and to never, ever give up.They do not all learn the same way but they all have some of the same difficulties. My students are very encouraging to each other. Many dyslexic kids have the burden of having ADHD, as well. It's hard enough for these students to read and write but when they have trouble sitting still because they have the "wiggles." It makes focusing a very hard task. Our school is made up of eleven second grade classes and eleven third grade class classes. I work to "tap" into their learning styles and take them as far as I can. Our school is a great school with a great principal who understands the students and their needs. Our motto is, "Doing what's best for kids." I will continue doing everything I can to teach these kids using the learning styles that are best for them.
